helmet diving

aside from traveling, i like trying out new things, especially stuff that scares me..hehe.!it feels good after you have conquered your fear, right!

before going to a place, i search on things that i can do in that place. so before i went to boracay, i was already decided to do 2 things, helmet diving and parasailing.

helmet diving may look intimidating but there's nothing scary about it. i assure you that you will enjoy every second of it.

there are guys offering different rates for helmet diving. you just need to haggle a little bit. i got mine at 500 pesos. that includes free cd with your pictures and video underwater. there's a short lecture on do's and dont's before going underwater. the helmet weighs 20 kilos, but underwater it's very light you won't feel its weight. once underwater just breath normally.

here are the pictures taken from my olympus underwater digicam.

here are the pictures from the free cd. i think they are using canon underwater digicam.

i attached my olympus to a tripod to make it easy to handle.

and here's a short video from my olympus underwater digicam.

paradiso grill

it wasn't dinner time yet, but since we are really 'matakaw', we decided to try paradiso grill.
outside their resto, you can choose from their selections of fresh sea foods. it's a little bit pricey so i only chose a medium size snapper and prawns. i told the staff to grill the snapper and to make a garlic butter prawn. but if you like sinigang or fried or steamed, just tell the staff.

i wanted to order lobster, but it's really pricey,,hehe!

you can enjoy your food while looking at the beautiful beach of boracay.

cam whoring while waiting for the food. of course, there's always the jumpshot ;-)

fish tastes good! the garlic butter sauce is just right for the prawns. there are complimentary sauces; lemon butter, toyo-mansi, chili.

a good way to end a satisfying meal is to order a refreshing dessert; halo halo with ice cream!

and finally, sunset,,,and another jumpshot! we pinoys just love jumpshots!

lamps for a romantic ambiance in the evening.

the pocket damage is a little bit over 1,000 pesos. over all, i had a great time. good food, great scenery, nice and efficient staff, beautiful view of sunset. it makes me miss boracay more ;-)

jonah's

jonah's has the most refreshing shakes!

i don't mind walking from station 2 to station 1 just to have a jonah's shake. their sandwiches taste yummy too.

mango shake

banana peanut shake
navy sandwich

lemon i cafe

this is one of the finest restaurants in boracay. never miss eating here if you're in boracay. it's in D'mall. their cakes look appetizing and it's really hard to choose which one to order.

after early morning swimming, we went here to have a snack. i ordered pineapple/coconut shake and a chocolate cake.yummy! the bill is around P200.

a paradise called boracay

a boracay vacation doesn't have to be expensive. you can have fun without draining your pocket.

i was bored last summer (May 2010). i wanted to get out of the city. the summer heat was really terrible. so i searched for the cheapest fare going to boracay. after comparing fares i took cebu pacific flight going to caticlan and air phil flight from kalibo to manila.
cebu pacific airline, manila to caticlan P1898.40

airphils airline
kalibo to manila P1798.00

i searched the Internet for accommodations. when i went to boracay 2 years ago i stayed in dave's straw hat. the room is nice, but it's in station 3. this time i wanted to be in station 2.
after inquiring in many hotels/inns/resorts, i settled for villa simprosa. i called up their number and Mr. pascual, the owner, reserved a room for me. it's easy to talk to him. he just instructed me to deposit a 1 night payment for my 3 nights stay. i also asked him to pick us up from the airport. he actually owns two guesthouses; villa simprosa (beachfront), villa simprosa annex (2minutes walk to the beach, cheaper).

villa simprosa contact number is 09173274076

accommodation cost:
room P1500/night x 3nights = P4500 divided by 2 pax = P2250

transfers:
caticlan P150 per person
kalibo P300 per person

i was traveling with my friend. when we reached caticlan airport, there was a guy from villa simprosa waiting for us. he took care of our bags until we reached villa simprosa annex.

the room is clean, with cable tv, fan, air condition, ref, shower, 1 double size bed and 1 single size bed.

we arrived lunch time. after lunch we decided to sleep first since it's sobrang init pa. here are some of the pics.

give donation to sand castle maker ;-)

swimming time for me is 6am - 10am. after that are food trip time, water sports time, pasyal time, shopping time, etc. boracay has everything!
