just arrived from a very relaxing vacation on bacolod. it's a stress free city, i love it! i also love my hotel! and most of all, i love their chicken inasal! in a major major way!haha!

PAL had a promo sometime in june, for the independence day celebration. i got a super cheap fare to bacolod at 1,240 pesos (that's roundtrip already)! perfect for a long weekend holiday (august 28-30).

bacolod has a new airport, at silay. it's 30 minutes away from the city. from the airport you can take a taxi or a shuttle van. taxi is 350-400 pesos. we took the shuttle van, fare is only 150 pesos. the driver drop us off at our hotel, L fisher chalet.

lago de oro

lago de oro, home of the first Cable Wakeboard Park in the Philippines, is in calatagan batangas, a 2 and a half drive south of manila. One does not need to go to camsur to go wakeboarding. They also have swimming pool and restaurant.

room is spacious. a standard room can accommodate 4 persons. there's a tv with cable channels. there's a small fridge. shower room is spacious also. if you don't feel like walking to the cable area, you can watch wakeboarders from your veranda. cool!

even though i was scared, it's hard for me to suppress the adventurer in me. i wanted to try wakeboarding but since it's my first time i was only allowed to try knee boarding. which was also good because it's important to learn the basics first.

kuya taught me the basics. you need to have a strong grip of the handle. relax your arms. balance!

ayan, kunot na noo ko. pwede ba magback out?forfeit na lang bayad ko!ok lang kuya!

the moment of truth!hehe! with trembling knees! wear the life vest, ready your kneeboard and most of all... pray.... a lot! i wasn't really afraid of falling or drowning, it's the humiliation i don't like! there were kids and teenagers wakeboarding wonderfully, and here was i just kneeboarding and sucking at it!haha!

i was happy that i was able to reach the 1st turn. it was such an adrenaline rush!

i tried it twice. my arms were already aching. and it was painful for 3 days. i forgot the importance of stretching before doing this.

this is the resto and ice cream bar. i like the huge serving and it's reasonably price.

huge LCD tv

it's so obvious that i got super hungry after kneeboarding. by the way, their pizza is really good!

breakfast at the pool side

pancakes and fruits with hot choco

some more pictures

video of my 1st attempt to kneeboard

because it's lean season when i went there, room rate was only 2,300 pesos, without breakfast. i paid an extra 400 pesos for kneeboarding. i also paid 100 pesos for the baller id, that i refunded after returning it.
